Our classes are developed to motivate and educate not only your athlete but us as parents on proper tumbling skills and progression. You will have access to all or curriculum and a detailed evaluation of your athletes skills after a evaluation class. Kick It

Description:

Prepare your tumbler for the next level of fitness and agility

Kick It – Fundamentals is a great way to learn a strong tumbling foundation. Particpants will successfully master the cartwheel, round off, handstand, and back bend. The athlete will begin skills that will help their bodies develop to be a strong tumbler and cheerleader. The athlete will be able to perform all skills in synchronization to counts.

Skills Focus:

  1. A candlestick to the upright position without using hands
  2. A forward roll in a tuck and straddle position
  3. A backward roll on wedge mat, tuck and straddle positions
  4. Lunge to arabesque (T) to handstand
  5. A cartwheel with straight legs
  6. Progressions to a round-off
  7. Push up to bridge
  8. Bridge from standing – hold for 10 seconds with a spot
  9. Handstand control to bridge with a spot
  10. Tuck, pike, straddle body positions

Advanced Kick It

6-18 yrs
Description:

Provides a solid foundation in the basic skills needed to progress into more advanced tumbling

Advanced Kick It – Bronze is designed to increase the understanding of the basic tumbling fundamentals. Athletes will build core strength and body awareness. Time will be spent focusing on solid foundations on the cartwheel, round off, back/front walkovers, and handstand skills. Each athlete will be introduced to the steps of a back handspring to help prepare them for Flip It – Silver Level Tumbling.

Skills Focus:

 

  1. Lunge to handstand, 4 seconds with a vertical position
  2. Handstand bridge
  3. Bridge kickover, back walkover
  4. Front limber, front walkover
  5. Handstand forward roll with assistance
  6. Round off with hollow body
  7. Body mechanics of a back handspring
  8. Sit, arch, block, hollow back handspring over barrel
  9. Power hurdle

Flip It

Description:

For students who are ready to learn a round off back handspring and standing back handspring

Flip It – Silver is for students who have a basic knowledge of tumbling. Students participating in this class must have a solid foundation in basic tumbling. Students will successfully master the round-off back handspring, a standing back handspring and a front handspring. Each athlete will be pushed to gain strength and power in their tumbling. Students will also begin connecting front tumbling to their round-off back handspring. Students will begin skills that will help their bodies develop into strong tumblers and cheerleaders, performing all skills in synchronization to counts.

Skills Focus:

  1. Handstand forward roll
  2. Power hurdle round-off rebound
  3. A standing back handspring
  4. Front handspring, front handspring stepout
  5. A round-off back handspring rebound
  6. Back extension roll to push up
  7. Back extension roll to handstand

Tuck It

Description:

Great class to prepare students for solid running tumbling skills and series standing skills to be ready to progress through more advances elements.

Tuck It – Gold is for students who have a basic knowledge of tumbling. Students participating in this class must already be able to perform a standing back handspring and round-off back handspring with a spot. Students will successfully master the round-off back handspring series and a series of standing back handsprings and a front handspring. Each athlete will begin an introduction to back tucks so they are ready to progress to higher levels. Students will also begin connecting front tumbling to their round-off back handspring. Students will begin skills that will help their bodies develop into strong tumblers and cheerleaders, performing all skills in synchronization to counts.

Skills Focus:

  1. Handstand forward roll
  2. Power hurdle round-off rebound
  3. A standing back handspring
  4. Front handspring, front handspring stepout
  5. A round-off back handspring rebound

Description:

Improving basic coordination, strength and flexibility while developing listening skills and attention spans. Developing basic motor skills through circuit instruction within a group setting (colors, shapes, numbers, etc)

Parent enrollment is often encouraged.

Skills Focus:

Forward & Backward Roll, Split handstand, Cartwheel, Bridge, Split introduction, plyometrics and single leg recruitment

In Tumble East Mesa

Athletes will work to increase body awareness, coordination through the use of tumbling skills and movement while increasing strength and flexibility. increasing proprioception, autonomy, single leg recruitment and balance.

Skills Focus:

Working straddle forward rolls, backward roll to a pushup, handstands, cartwheels, backbends, round-offs, backbend kickovers, front limbers. Back walkover, Front walkover, Front Handspring, Roundoff rebound series, Front and Backhandsprings, Oversplits, Handstand Walks, Back Extension Rolls, Roundoff, Power Frontwalkover front handspring, front lever back walkover, developing opposite side skills (doing all skills with a straight leg), Standing Tumbling: Backwalkover Backhandspring, Backhandspring series, Aerials, Roundoff 3 Backhandsprings, Back and Front Tucks, Layouts and Fulls
